Job Title: Applied ScientistJob Summary:Specright is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Applied Scientist to join our Shared Services team. In this role, you will apply scientific and analytical expertise to solve real-world business challenges, leveraging deep knowledge in data science, algorithms, and system design. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering and Product Management teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that scale across our cloud-based platform.Specright offers cloud-based software (SaaS) for specification data management to Enterprise and Mid-Market companies with complex needs. Whether it's packaging, formulas, or products, Specright helps companies reduce costs and drive efficiencies by enabling the sharing, analysis, and auditing of specification data.Responsibilities and Duties

Research and evaluate emerging AI/ML tools and methodologies to assess their applicability and value within Specright's SaaS platform.
Translate academic research and industry trends into innovative, real-world solutions that address key business and customer challenges.
Design, implement, and optimize models, algorithms, and simulations to enhance performance across supply chain and specification management workflows.
Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover patterns, generate actionable insights, and produce intuitive visualizations that drive strategic decisions.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including Product and Engineering-to integrate scientific solutions into scalable production systems.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to operationalize models and algorithms within Specright's cloud infrastructure.
Measure and communicate the business impact of scientific solutions to inform prioritization, product strategy, and stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field
Demonstrated ability to translate academic research and emerging AI/ML techniques into real-world, production-ready solutions
Hands-on experience developing and deploying scalable machine learning models
Proficient in working with large, complex datasets to extract insights and drive decision-making
Proficiency in Python (or similar languages), with experience using modern AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering creative and practical solutions
Effective communicator and collaborative team player, comfortable working across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Master's or Ph.D degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field
Experience with developing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML models in cloud-based environments such as AWS
Experience working with LLMs
