Job DescriptionAs the Body & Chassis Buyer you will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and independent judgment. Represents purchasing activities on program team and vice-versa. Partner with Program Managers to represent purchasing and communicate program requirements/vehicle line overview.Other responsibilities include:

Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships
Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)
Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance

Skills and Knowledge:

Proven competence in negotiating skills
Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills- Automotive industry experience
Knowledge of procurement software
Knowledge of materials management
Capable of interpreting market data
Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
