When executing the projects, the Project / Maintenance Engineer may act as project manager for the project, from the initial budgeting and design phase to execution and delivery of the project to production.
The Project Engineer is acting as project manager of capex project from design, business case to execution and completion within specification. He / she is in charge of the planning, budget and deliverable versus the business case endorsed by the business.
The Project / Maintenance Engineer works closely with the Maintenance Manager or Technical Manager in order to ensure the technical availability of the assets and installations. The Project / Maintenance Engineer may specialize in a single area (mechanical, construction, transport systems, electrical) or have a broader / generalist role.
The level of the Project / Maintenance Engineer will depend on the size of the organisation / site and installations, the scope and size of the project managed as well as the complexity of the production processes / equipment.Job Description:Technical project managementDevelops technical project objectives by drafting maintenance of CAPEX project proposals and plansDetermines project specifications in line with operations requirements, and performance standards; completes technical studies and prepares cost estimatesEvaluates and validates design alternatives to create optimum designs.Certifies the technical accuracy of designs.ProjectsParticipates as a team member in a broad CAPEX assignments, or leads project teams in maintenance and CAPEX projectsParticipate in assigned installation and/or maintenance projects, within the project management guidelines.Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.Monitoring and auditingConducts technical audits and ad hoc monitoring of existing installations and relevant equipment in order to support the technical availability of the installationGenerates reports regarding project / installation status, progress of maintenance and project work, incidents and update relevant systems as well as technical documents as required.Maintenance and troubleshootingDefines maintenance and engineering standards, procedures and approaches for the assigned area, in order to enhance the quality and availability of the installationTroubleshoots in case of (recurring) malfunctions, problems or other issues; Suggests solutions to prevent malfunctions from recurringAssists in preparing, planning and scheduling maintenance and project work; Supervises (scheduled and non-scheduled) maintenance work, carry out testing and generate and implement solutions and/or corrective action to installation and maintenance problems. May actively participate in the execution of the work whilst supervisingMay maintain or supervise inventory management of equipment, parts, and supplies to ensure availability of equipment / spare parts for continuous productionLeads maintenance continuous improvement methodologies and best practices such as TPM, spare part mgt, Cost of ownership optimization, supplier tenders in the field of maintenance with purchasing ….Technical leadershipProvides technical leadership to a group of (permanently of temporarily) assigned engineers and technicians.Stays abreast of the latest developments in maintenance and engineeringActs as a technical consultant on maintenance and engineering; Contributes to the development of Nutreco technical standardsComplianceEnsures that all activities are prepared and executed in line with all relevant safety regulations and procedures (work permits, LoTo, etc.), as well as technical standards, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including addressing anomalies to others.Signals potential hazardous and / or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situationsOur organisation:Skretting is a global leader in providing innovative and sustainable nutritional solutions and services for the aquaculture industry.
