We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Cost Manager to join our team and provide comprehensive cost management and quantity surveying services across pre-contract and post-contract phases of construction projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in cost consultancy while working on diverse projects and contributing to successful project delivery.What This Job Involves
- Undertaking cost management and quantity surveying activities for pre-contract and post-contract consultancy services.
- Performing accurate and efficient take-offs with emphasis on both precision and speed.
- Participating in budget preparation, pre-contract cost estimates, and multi-stage cost plans.
- Preparing and formulating Bills of Quantities in accordance with standard formats.
- Contributing to pre-tender cost estimates and tender evaluation reports.
- Participating in the review and assessment of payment valuations.
- Managing project change control processes for all additional works as required.
- Preparing and reviewing measurement tasks using CostX or equivalent software tools.
- Pricing and checking additional works and post-contract cost estimates, including validation and quantification processes.
- Supporting supply chain management activities and contributing to procurement processes.
- Participating in Final Account preparation and contributing to contractor negotiations and agreements.
- Representing the company professionally in all client and stakeholder interactions.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of cost management principles and quantity surveying practices.
- Proficiency in take-off techniques with demonstrated accuracy and efficiency.
- Experience with measurement software, preferably CostX or similar applications.
- Understanding of contract administration and change management processes.
- Knowledge of standard measurement methods and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Self-motivated with strong team collaboration skills.
- Professional attitude and commitment to maintaining company standards.
- Previous experience in construction cost consultancy (preferred but not essential).
- Familiarity with various contract forms and procurement methods.
