Enterprise Backup Administrator

- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise-level backup and recovery solutions.
- Manage and monitor backup schedules and ensure that backups are performed according to defined policies and procedures.
- Perform regular backups and test the restore processes to ensure data recoverability.
- Implement and maintain backup policies, retention periods, and archival procedures.
- Troubleshoot backup failures and perform root cause analysis to address underlying issues.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure backup and recovery requirements are met.
- Work with vendors to evaluate and implement new backup technologies and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and standards.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of backup procedures and configurations.
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer science, information systems, or equivalent
- Administrator: Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in systems data protection services
- Senior Administrator: Minimum 3 - 6 years of experience in systems data protection services
- Good Knowledge of the following technologies;
- Data protection software/appliances (Dell Power Protect, Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery, and Veritas NetBackup) administration.
- Relevant knowledge of RDBMS databases and best practices of data protection.
- Relevant Knowledge of operating systems (UNIX, MS Windows, Linux, Solaris)
- Networking, Security, and Storage concepts.
- Minimum to have one certification:
- EMC and/or VERITAS data protection-related certificate
- Skills:
- Good command of English and Arabic languages
- Good Communication and Presentation skills
- Good Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving skills
- Background of ITIL foundations
