- Contribute to the development of the Bank's long-term strategic plan and annual business plan for approval by Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
- Develop strategy and product papers aligned with the corporate strategic plan for approval by Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
- Continuously monitor internal and external events affecting the Bank, providing intellectual leadership for both short-term tactics and long-term vision.
- Offer professional input into the Bank's annual business planning and budgeting process, translating strategic goals into actionable plans for efficient task allocation.
- Communicate approved long-term and annual business plans to all staff, establishing monitoring and reporting mechanisms for Senior Management and staff.
- Analyse and recommend enhancements to internal business processes, leveraging industry knowledge and management consulting skills.
- Participate in the preparation of the Bank’s Annual, Half Year, and End of Year reports.
- Establish and implement a customer feedback loop to ensure a customer-centric focus in the Bank's lending activities.
- Collaborate with the Risk Management department to define the Bank’s annual risk appetite.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of strategic plans, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
- Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related fields from a recognised University.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Strategy and Business Planning professional, preferably in consulting or financial services.
- Proven experience in preparing and presenting strategic business plans in the financial services industry, with expertise in financial analysis, modeling, and statistical analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic insights into industry, consumer, and competitor trends.
- Clear understanding of trade development issues in Africa and skills in economic forecasting.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to sell ideas to Senior Management.
- Cultural awareness and adaptability in a diverse and change-oriented setting, with knowledge of business planning practices in Africa.
- Ability to interact with senior officials of international agencies, multilaterals, banks, corporates, and governments.
- Strong research skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in the Bank's other working languages (French, Arabic, and Portuguese) is an added advantage.
- Two qualifications in related field
- Able to speak either French or Portuguese
- Able to relocate to Abijan, Abuja, Harare, Cairo, Yaounde, Kampala
