If you are eager to work in an inspiring, dynamic environment and collaborate with like-minded people, we want to hear from you!ABOUT THE ROLEResponsible for leading and managing the sprint execution and development team within the Egypt office of Mondia and in partnership with other offices in the organization, the VP Technology - Egypt is responsible for detailed sprint planning, coordinating with the Scrum Master, and ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery of software projects, leading and developing the Software teams.The primary focus is on driving the Technology team in Egypt to success across all aspects of the Technology goals in the building, secondary to the role is owning the office leadership role in Egypt as the Senior leadership member working with HQ in the UAE. This will mean overseeing office culture, recruitment, costs, and other leadership tasks.This role will oversee the development pool, including front-end, back-end, middleware, etc., and collaborate with the Group CTO, Head of Design and Planning and Head of Infrastructure and Systems to provide necessary support and resources to the team. The team is spread across several countries and requires experience in achieving results from a distributed workforce.The VP Technology - Egypt reports to the CTO and works closely with the UAE Leadership team.Key accountabilities (Functional Responsibilities)

Lead and manage the detailed sprint planning process for the upcoming and current sprint, ensuring well-defined sprint goals and achievable timelines.
Review stories in coordination with the Head of Planning and Design if there are unclear user stories.
Coordinate with the Leadership team on key office based objectives inclusive of HR, Finance, Product and Commercial.
Actively engage in coding and development tasks to support the team and deliverables across the project.
Use technical expertise to guide the team and ensure high-quality code and solutions.

Provide strong leadership to the development team, ensuring a productive and cohesive work environment.
Monitor team performance, address any challenges, and foster continuous improvement.
Establish and maintain metrics to measure mainline stability, deployment frequency, and deployment time.
Optimize mainline stability, deployment frequency, and deployment time to improve the pace of development and deliver high-quality software consistently.
Manage the development pool, coordinating with team members from different specializations (e.g., front-end, back-end, middleware, QA) to ensure efficient resource allocation and balanced workloads.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of coding, development best practices, and emerging technologies.
Stay abreast of industry trends and apply this knowledge to enhance the team's performance.
Act as a taskmaster, holding team members accountable for their commitments and ensuring tasks are completed on time and in line with quality standards.
Reporting to the CTO
The role is expected to manage and optimize development metrics, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure the team's productivity.
Major decisions related to project execution, resource allocation, and technical approaches will be made in coordination with the Scrum Master and other relevant stakeholders.

RequirementsEducation

College diploma in a Software or Software Engineering, or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Evidence of continuing education, whether formal/structured or informal, in the field of software development, machine/deep learning, systems development, full stack development.
Project management and formal Agile experience would be welcomed.
Recent software development experience is mandatory.

Professional qualification

At least 10 years of software development and project management experience with a significant portion of that time including hands-on coding experience.
Extensive experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices, with a deep understanding of sprint planning and execution processes.
Strong technical background, proficiency in multiple coding languages, and a thorough understanding of development best practices.
Previous experience leading and managing software development teams, fostering collaboration and delivering successful outcomes

Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on maintaining high-quality code and software delivery.
Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, driving a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
