- Proactively manage the Global Trade Compliance function and team within the AMET region
- Serve as SME on regional trade regulations, development and implementation of business processes, tariff interpretation and classification, valuation, clearance and brokerage, import and export compliance, preferential trade programs, supply chain security programs, licensing, documentation, and reporting
- Ensure management and employees are in compliance with the trade-related regulations of regulatory agencies, and that company trade-related policies and procedures are being followed; monitor trade processes, audit, report, and implement corrective action; Collaborate with other company functions for all related import/export matters to ensure compliance
- Analyze, monitor and communicate important changes in customs legislation, international trade operations, new trade agreements, and other programs that may impact the business
- Assist in augmenting an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all relevant employees
- Represent and respond to inquiries from Customs and other government agencies
- Lead trade compliance solutions, strategies, and risks to issues faced by the businesses, and influence key leadership and cross-functional team members to make strategic changes
- University degree in related field (Business Administration, Economics, International Law, other)
- Minimum 7 years of experience in similar Global Trade Compliance - related roles or equivalent Supply Chain roles
- Arabic and English fluent speaker (verbal and written communication)
- Previous trade compliance experience in Egyptian or Saudi Arabian markets
- Experience with conformity assessment requirements (COCs), specific exporter registration requirements and other types or import/export permits required to clear goods in the region.
- Past and current experience in Law firms, FMCG, Chemical or Consultancy companies area considered competitive advantage
- Strong understanding of Customs Regulations in multiple countries within the AMET region, including knowledge of Customs valuation, classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, preferential trade agreements and supply chain security programs
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; strong collaboration to build consensus and bring cross functional teams together
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
- At least one year of people management experience (local or remote teams)
